We are a partnership of NHS, councils, and voluntary sector organisations, working together to improve health and care in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, and Islington.

Our plans

The organisations that provide health, care and voluntary services in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington (North Central London) have been working together to deliver the requirements set out in the NHS Long Term Plan (LTP).

We have a collective commitment to deliver changes that will improve the health and wellbeing of residents. We have listened to what residents told us is important to them and will continue to engage with and involve residents in our plans.

The establishment of Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) allows an opportunity to further build on our work in recent years to improve services and integrate systems. Covid-19 has seen a fundamental change to how we collaborate; breaking down barriers that previously existed between organisations to create a true partnership approach to health and care.

We have been building on our effective response to Covid-19 to make it easier for us to work as a system.

Our aim is to help residents to live the fullest lives possible, stay well, and to recover from ill health more quickly. We want to tackle the long-standing problems in NCL that mean some residents experience inequalities in their health.

Our plans respond to what local people have told us they want from health and care services. Local people have said they want a more joined up health and care service, enabled by simple and effective administrative processes and IT that enables access to the service quickly and effectively.

We have a clear ambition for what we want to achieve, and we understand the actions we need to take to succeed in our ambition.

Our plans look at how we can meet the immediate challenges as health and care services begin to recover from the pandemic, and how our partnerships can continue to ensure long term improvements in the health and wellbeing of our residents.

NCL Integrated Care System Joint Capital Use Plan

The National Health Service Act 2006, as amended by the Health and Care Act 2022 (the amended 2006 Act) sets out that an ICB and its partner NHS trusts and foundation trusts:

  • must before the start of each financial year, prepare a plan setting out their planned capital resource use
  • must publish that plan and give a copy to their integrated care partnership,  Health & Well-being Boards and NHS England
  • may revise the published plan – but if they consider the changes significant, they must re-publish the whole plan; if the changes are not significant, they must publish a document setting out the changes.

In line with the amended 2006 Act, ICBs are required to publish these plans before or soon after the start of the financial year and report against them within their annual report. The North Central London Integrated Care Board, on behalf of our partners across NCL Integrated Care System, publish the joint capital resource use plan for the financial year to share the planned use of capital funding across NCL NHS organisations.
